Absolutely! The Flex program was always designed for students to be part of our amazing Reynolds community. For students in Flex, their morning elective courses are part of the whole Reynolds community while they spend the afternoons with their Flex cohort.
-
Students earn one credit per year for completing their Flex Service hours and reflecting on the contributions they have made to their community. By the end of their time at Reynolds, students will have earned four credits for Flex Service, which is the equivalent of a full course. These credits will appear on their transcripts.
Applications
-
Along with the answers to the application questions, the report card is used as just another piece of information as we consider each applicant. In accordance to the Flex philosophy, we know that students who thrive in Flex are those who put in their best effort and are willing to challenge themselves. We understand that a letter grade and the effort put into a course are not always the same thing.
-
No. While we use report cards as one piece of information to learn about you, there is no minimum grade that someone has to have in order to be accepted into Flex. We are more interested in the commitment you show to your learning than we are with the letter grade.
-
We highly encourage all students to submit their answers to the application questions in a way that they feel best represents themselves. If you love to write, then that is great! But if you feel like you can express yourself better in a different way, then do that! For example, in the past we have had applicants submit art, videos, high top shoes, poetry, music videos, and dance as their answers to the questions. There is no right way to the answers the questsions; we want to learn about you, from you!
